Educational, entertaining and economical

Rocks To schools is fully aware that schools can enhance children`s learning in this area by engaging them on field trips. The problem is that this can prove to be an additional financial burden on families in this tough economic climate. Bringing practical learning into schools, allowing your pupils to spend less time traveling on field trips and more time learning about this fascinating subject.

Rocks and Fossils

With real rocks and fossils to see and handle, Pupils can gain unique experience of a wide variety of different geological textures and materials. They will also home their detective skills by learning how to see the difference between real fossils that are millions of years old and highly convincing Replicas. Whatever their age, your pupils have tremendous fun learning precisely how fossils and rocks were formed over time and how to look for them in a safe and careful manner in their free time.

Deadly Dinosaurs

Everybody is fascinated by dinosaurs – especially children. They’re probably the most exciting, yet terrifying, aspect of palaeontology. Let your pupil’s imaginations run wild, but in a controlled and structured way, that heightens their knowledge of some of the greatest
animals to have ever stride the earth. This workshop will not only increase their knowledge of these majestic prehistoric beasts, but also enable them to take part in an actual 'Dinosaur Dig'.

Earthquakes and Volcanoes

Mother nature at her best or worst – that’s the frightening and unpredictable world of earthquakes and volcanoes. Rocks To Schools will hit home the immense power of these often devastating acts of nature. Your pupil’s will discover not only why these events occur
– such as exactly what happens when a volcano erupts and how lava cools down to create another form of rock.

Space and the Exploration of Our Moon

Create craters, collect Moon rocks. Workshops will help pupils explore the Moon and how it effects our planet. They will also learn more about other planets, space and future exploration. Visit our space page for more details.
